Earnest C. Boyd was born in Mississippi on April 30, 1923. He was the son of J. Melvin Boyd and Ethel Hawn Boyd. He served as a Private First Class in the 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division during World War II. PFC Boyd was killed in action on August 23, 1944. He was initially buried in the temporary American Cemetery of Villeneuve-sur-Auvers, near Paris. Earnest C. Boyd is currently buried in the Tylertown Cemetery in Mississippi.
