Hugh D. McKenzie was born on October 7, 1913 in Oakland, California. He was the son of Hugh Alexander McKenzie and Hadassah Bell Mobley McKenzie. Hugh served in the 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Division as a Major during World War II. He died on September 23, 1944 at the age of 30 in France and is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery, Dinozé, France.
