Former United States Officer Was Serving with the Canadian Forces.
Captain Stanley Willis Wood of the Sixteenth Battalion Canadian Scottish, formerly a second lieutenant with the Seventh Infantry of the United States Army, was killed Tuesday at Ypres. He was a member of the expeditionary force that occupied Vera Cruz, and on his return in November, 1914, resigned his commission and enlisted in the Canadian expeditionary forces.
Captain Wood had been twice wounded and was twice recommended for decoration, and was once mentioned in dispatches. He was appointed to the United States Army from civil life in February, 1911, and was a brother of Captain Robert E. Wood of the cavalry.
