SSgt Milton Paul Stoll, right waist gunner of the B-26 Marauder 42-96080 “The Flying Dutchman II”, took off from station 455 in Holmsley South, Hampshire, UK on a bombing mission over the Isle-Adam bridge. The plane was hit by flak. Half the crew was able to bail out successfully before the plane exploded at 1907. Stoll was not.

He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France and also has a cenotaph in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, Benton County, Iowa.
