2nd Lt Charles Leon Kee, pilot of the B-26 Marauder 42-96080 “The Flying Dutchman II”, took off from station 455 in Holmsley South, Hampshire, UK on a bombing mission over the Isle-Adam bridge. The plane was hit by flak. Half the crew, including Lt Kee, was able to bail out successfully before the plane exploded at 1907. He was captured and sent to Stalag Luft 1 in Barth-Vogelsang, Prussia.
