William H. Goode was born on September 5, 1923. William enlisted in the Army on May 10, 1943. He took basic training at Camp Beale in California and served with the field artillery. Pvt. Goode was then sent to England; France and Belgium and was under command of George S. Patton. He served with the 101st Infantry Regiment. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1941 near Kaundorf, Luxembourg at the age of 21 and is now buried in the American Legion Cemetery, Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia, USA.
