2nd Lt Sidney Mink, bombardier of the B-17 42-3285 �Mary Ellen�, took off from station 136 Knettishall, Suffolk, UK at 0730 on a bombing mission over Frankfurt. The plane was hit by flak at noon, forcing the crew to bail out. Four crew members did not make it out, including Mink.
