Pilot of the P-47D 42-27105 that took off from Luneville in France on 1 April 1945 on a mission over Heilbronn, Germany. His engine was hit by flak at about 1745 and he tried to make it back to American lines with the crippled plane. He crashed next to the town of Bernbrunn, Germany. His remains were repatriated to the Golden Gate Cemetery in San Bruno, CA on 8 October 2001.
