1st Lt William R. Perkins, pilot of the P-51 Mustang 43-6827 "Angel from Hell", took off from station 410 in Lashenden, Kent, UK on a mission over Rennes. He was shot down by AA fire and clipped a tree on his way down, slamming him into the ground in flames at 0725. A 354th FG association is involved with the making of the documentary "Angel from Hell - The Bill Perkins Story".
