Konomu “Paul” Ura was born on March 15, 1929, in Kurtistown, Hawaii County, Hawaii. He was the son of Kiyoshi Ura and Tsune Ura. He served in Company L, 3rd Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Cpl Ura was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in the area of "Old Baldy", northeast of Seoul, North Korea on June 29, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. He also has a cenotaph in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
