Herbert Hideaki Suzuki was born on April 21, 1932, in Hawaii. He was the son of James Kiyoshi Suzuki and Mildred Tsuruyo Tsumura Suzuki. He served in the 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, as a Private and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Pvt Suzuki was Killed in Action on August 7, 1950, during the Battle of Pusan in South Korea. He is now buried in the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1, Hilo, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA.
