Arthur Ichiro Okamura was born on August 2, 1928, in Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii. He served in Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Okamura was Killed in Action on October 14, 1951, in North Korea. His remains were not recovered. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
