Earl Kenneth Nore was born April 8th, 1920 in Sidonia, North Dakota. His parents were the farmer Oscar Clarence Nore (1897-1972) and Stepfalena Amelia Davick (1896-1974), both native of Norway. Earl had five siblings. Earl Nore was trained at Sheppard Field, Texas and went overseas in March 1943.

His brother PFC Perdin Orville Nore, 163rd Infantry Regiment, was killed in WW2 on Guadalcanal in 1943.
