Shogo Iwatsuru was born on December 6, 1930. He served in the 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.
Pvt Iwatsuru was seriously wounded by missile fire during combat and later died of his wounds on September 6, 1951, during the Battle of Bloody Ridge in North Korea. He is now buried in the East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento, Sacramento County, California, USA.
