Steven Lloyd Dupont was born on February 21, 1990, in Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida. He was the son of Charles N. Dupont and Brenda Broussard Dupont. He was a graduate of Comeaux High School and enlisted in the United States Army in July 2008. Before enlisting in the Army, Dupont had been a member of the school’s ROTC program. He held the rank of Specialist and served as a Forward Observer with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3d Squadron, 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment, stationed in Vilseck, Germany, and was later deployed to Afghanistan.

Spc Dupont was Killed in Action on October 24, 2010, in Rangrizan, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device during Operation Enduring Freedom. He is now buried in the Saint Joseph Cemetery, Milton, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, USA.
