Paul Orazio Cuzzupe II was born on December 2, 1986, in Fort Riley, Geary County, Kansas. He was the son of Paul O. Cuzzupe Sr. and Annette Cuzzupe-Kirk. He was a graduate of Armwood High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, and later attended Saint Leo University from 2005 to 2009, majoring in History with a minor in Political Science. He enlisted in March 2009 and departed for basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in July 2009. He later completed Advanced Individual Training as a Combat Medic at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, before being assigned to G Company, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, stationed in Vilseck, Germany. He was later deployed in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

PFC Cuzzupe was Killed in Action on August 8, 2010, in Akhtar-Mohammad-Khan, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He is now buried in the Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery, Brandon, Hillsborough County, Florida, USA.
