Randell Olguin was born on August 2, 1983, in Orlando, Orange County, Florida. He was the husband of Anna Hammer. He graduated from Ralls High School in 2003. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and was assigned to Germany. He served as an Infantryman and Sergeant with C Company, 1st Squadron, 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany, before deploying to Iraq for his second tour.

Sgt Olguin was Killed in Action on September 30, 2007, when insurgents attacked his unit using small-arms fire in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is now buried in the Ralls Cemetery, Ralls, Crosby County, Texas, USA.
