Jason Christopher Kazarick was born on July 20, 1977, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Susan M. Dubaich. He was a 1995 graduate of Plum High School, having begun his education in the neighboring Penn Hills area. Before enlisting in the U.S. Army in October 2005, he worked at an auto dealership. He later served as an infantryman and Corporal with the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany, and had been deployed to Iraq since August 15, 2007.

Cpl Kazarick was Killed in Action on April 7, 2008, when insurgents fired a rocket-propelled grenade in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is now buried in the Oakmont-Verona Cemetery, Oakmont, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA.
