David Leonard Conway was born on March 30, 1917, in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Elizabeth Boner Conway and Denis Conway. He worked in a machine shop before enlisting in the service on February 15, 1943. He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Combat Infantry Squad Leader during World War II.

Cpl Conway was Killed in Action on April 14, 1945, during the Battle of Wei�enfels in Germany. He is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
