Albert Louis Weidenbach was born on August 29, 1917, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Albert Christian Weidenbach and Kathryn E. Hildebrand Weidenbach Fletcher. He was married to Margaret E. Musselman Weidenbach. He completed at least one year of high school and worked as a spot welder before being employed as a general helper at a navy yard. He joined the National Guard on November 15, 1937, serving with Headquarters Detachment, Special Troops, and was transferred to the Medical Detachment, Special Troops, in 1939. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 12, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began his overseas service on June 12, 1944. He served with the 121st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division.
In August 1944, Pvt Weidenbach sustained rifle wounds to his neck and chest. Despite treatment with penicillin, he succumbed to his wounds on August 31, 1944, at a hospital in France, less than one week after his 27th birthday. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France. He also has a cenotaph in the Forks Cemetery, Stockertown, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, USA.
