Harold John “Honey” Theis was born on December 22, 1918, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of Rose Sandhop. He served in Company D, 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II.

2Lt Theis was Killed in Action on August 13, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Saint Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
