Elmer Fred Siedhof was born on December 30, 1907, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Elmer H. Siedhof and Mary K. Eichelberger Siedhof. He was married to Mildred E. Beam Siedhof. He volunteered for service in November 1943 and arrived overseas in May 1944. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Siedhof was Killed in Action on August 29, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Salem Evangelical Reformed Church Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA.
