Robert Norman Seligman was born on November 5, 1922, in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Norman A Seligman and Dorothy M. McConnell Seligman. He was Carola A. Hermes Blasig. He was married to Mattie Paynter. He graduated from Tamaqua High School. Robert entered military service in October 1943 and received his training at Camp Barkeley, Tennessee, and Camp Reynolds. He was sent overseas in May and served as an ambulance driver in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.
Pvt Seligman was Killed in Action on August 26, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA.
