Wallace Woodrow Parrish was born on December 9, 1913, in Sturgis, Union County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Amacy Parrish and Thula Elser "ELSIE" Connelly Parrish. He enlisted in the service on September 24, 1940. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II.

Sgt Parrish was Killed in Action on September 3, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA.
