Jack T. Parker was born on May 26, 1918, in Marietta, Love County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Ed L. Parker and Ruth Elizabeth Thompson Parker. He graduated from Healdton High School in May 1937 and later attended Southeastern State College for three years. He was a member of the National Guard. Lt. Parker was called to active duty in 1940 during his junior year at Southeastern State College, where he was majoring in commerce. He was first stationed briefly at Fort Sill before being assigned to Camp Berkeley, Texas. He later attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant. Following his commissioning, he was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin, until he was sent overseas in October 1943. He landed in Ireland, later moved to England, and participated in the invasion of France. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a First Lieutenant and Platoon Observer during World War II.

1Lt Parker was Killed in Action on September 1, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
