Charles Irving Murdock was born on February 9, 1910, in Schroon, Essex County, New York. He enlisted in the service on January 13, 1944. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Murdock was Killed in Action on August 28, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
