Raymond Norman Koski was born on February 29, 1924, in Calumet, Houghton County, Michigan. He was the son of Matteus Koski and Amalia Hautaniemi Koski. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.
PFC Koski was Killed in Action on August 31, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France. He also has a cenotaph in the Lake View Cemetery, Calumet, Houghton County, Michigan, USA.
