Kenneth Drake Johnson was born on February 2, 1905, in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Thomas M. Johnson and Iona "Onie" Sellers Finch. He served in the 709th Tank Battalion as a Technician 4th Grade during World War II.

T4 Johnson was Killed in Action on August 25, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
