Martin Jasas was born on October 23, 1916, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of Martha Kaulitis Jasas and Martha Kaulaite. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Jasas was Killed in Action on August 31, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
