Wilmer Calvin Hosler was born on July 14, 1913, in Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George D. Hosler and Mary Catherine Shur Hosler. He was married to Barbara Irene. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Hosler was Killed in Action on September 2, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA.
