Harry Leonard Heidrick was born on December 5, 1916, in Kings County, New York. He was the son of John C. Heidrick and Mary Josephine Cocker. He was married to Evelyn F. Distell Heidrick Froehlich. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Heidrick was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Rices Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Campbellville, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
