Aubrey Lee Edwards was born on March 16, 1924, in Meridian, Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Sam E. Edwards and Jennie Palmer Gueringer Edwards. He was an employee of the Crowell Longleaf Lumber Company before enlisting in the service on August 24, 1943. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.
Pvt Edwards was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
