Stanley Walter Dudek was born on August 20, 1918, in Hudson, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Martin Dudek and Frances Rolnik. He was married to Anna Jean Senko. He was employed by the Continental Can Company before enlisting in the service on June 16, 1941. He served in the 83rd Armored Field Artillery Battalion as a Technician 4th Grade during World War II.

On August 8, 1944, he was severely wounded by artillery fire, suffering injuries to the buttock, hip, and abdomen that led to acute peritonitis; despite surgery, he died on August 13, 1944, in a hospital in France and was buried in the Brittany American Cemetery at Saint-James.
