Edward Bukowy was born on February 22, 1908, in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was the son of Pavel (Paul) Bukowy and Mary Dianis. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Bukowy was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, D�partement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
