Elton Council Bryan was born on February 16, 1923, in Richlands, Onslow County, North Carolina. He was the son of Wright William Bryan and Annie Raynor Bryan. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.
Pvt Bryan was Killed in Action on September 2, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Cedar Fork Community Cemetery, Duplin County, North Carolina, USA.
