Cecil Hester Brewer was born on February 17, 1914, in Neshoba County, Mississippi. He was the son of John Anderson Brewer and Minnie Alma Wilson Brewer. He was married to Doris Wadell Cockroft Brewer. He served in the 121st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Brewer was Killed in Action on September 2, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the High Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake County, Mississippi, USA.
