Vito Biondo was born on October 24, 1914, in Palermo, Cittŕ Metropolitana di Palermo, Sicilia, Italy. He was the son of Dominic Biondo and Santa Biondo. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Biondo was Killed in Action on August 19, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
