John F. Bajzik was born on June 14, 1924, in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. He was the son of Joseph Bajzik and Anna Herda Bajzik. He worked in an unskilled machine shop before enlisting in the service on March 18, 1943. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Bajzik was Killed in Action on August 25, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
