Victor Frederick Crowell was born on February 17, 1914, in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey. He was the son of George Elmer Crowell and Blanche A. Benson Crowell. He was married to Margaret Millicent Carpenter Crowell Henline. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1939. He served in the 57th Infantry Regiment, Philippine Scouts, as a First Lieutenant during World War II.
1Lt Crowell died on January 1, 1942, during the invasion by Japanese forces. He is now buried in the United States Military Academy Post Cemetery, West Point, Orange County, New York, USA.
