John Joseph Murphy was born on 10 Oct 1891 in Aildavour, Connolly, Co. Clare, Ireland. He likely arrived in NY in May 1913 on the SS Caronia and he lived in New York City. He served in World War 1 in Company D, 307th Infantry Regiment., 77th infantry Division. He was killed in action on June 24, 1918 in France. Remains returned to Ireland in 1922 on the SS Millwater. Buried in Kilmaley Cemetery, Co. Clare.
