Abner Adolph Anderson was born on May 28, 1889, in Hayfield, Dodge County, Minnesota. He was the son of Andrine Anderson. He enlisted in the service on March 3, 1916. He served in the 46th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment), as a Private during World War I.
