Comments:

Edward A. Cohan was born on April 15, 1915. He was the son of Alexander Benjamin Cohen and Mamie Marks Cohen. He served in the 7th Infantry Division as a Staff Sergeant during World War II.

SSgt Cohan was captured by the Japanese Army and became a prisoner of war. He was held at Osaka Main Camp Chikko, also known as Osaka 34-135, where he died in captivity on October 27, 1944. He is now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. Although the memorial lists them under Tokyo 13B, research indicates they were held at Osaka Main Camp; this discrepancy may be due to administrative errors, post-war misclassification, or regional recordkeeping that categorized prisoners under Tokyo's jurisdiction.
