George Ray Jarrett was born on June 26, 1925, in Davidson County, North Carolina. He was the son of Kenny Causey Jarrett and Nancy Florence Lamb Jarrett. He was married to Helen Staley Jarrett Toomes. He served in Company A, 275th Infantry Regiment, 70th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.
Pvt Jarrett was Killed in Action on February 7, 1945, during the liberation of Grosbliederstroff, France. He is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France.
