Walter Scott Price is an American soldier and businessman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born in 1876. He was part of the U.S. Army assigned to the Philippines at the onset of the Spanish-American War serving in the 2nd PA Volunteers; 43rd US Volunteers and the 4th US Infantry from 1898-1901. During his stay in the Philippines, Price met and eventually married Simeona Kalingag, a Caviteņa, on January 1, 1901. They settled in Tacloban City and founded the Leyte Transportation Company (Letranco) and the Bazar Gran Capitan.
Built a mansion in Tacloban later used by MacArthur and as the provisional capitol of the country.
A World War II POW interred at Los Banos Internment Camp, Phillipines.
Died at the U.S. Army 5th Field Hospital, Santo Tomas University, Manila, Philippines. Died of pneumonia.
