Harry Sherman Cochran was born on May 6, 1923, in Gilfoyle, Forest County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Orrie Clinton Cochran and Ella May Barr Cochran.
Harry served in the 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 8, 1944, during the liberation of Vire, France. Pvt Cochran is now buried in the North Forest Cemetery, Marienville, Forest County, Pennsylvania, USA.
