Tom A. Sorby was born on November 21, 1922. He served in Company F, 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was one of 50 US Army Rangers who participated with British Commando on the Dieppe raid in 1942. PFC Sorby died on March 27, 1993, and is now buried in Twin Firs Cemetery, Belfair, Mason County, Washington, USA.
