Michael Kerecman was born on September 21, 1916, in Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Kerecman and Julia Puzakolic Kerecman. He was married to Helen Kulikowski Kerecman.

Kenneth served in Company D, 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was one of 50 US Army Rangers who participated with British Commando on the Dieppe raid in 1942. T5 Kerecman died on June 21, 1988, and is now buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA.
