Marvin L. Kavanaugh was born on August 23, 1919. He was married to Eva Anglin Kavanaugh. He served in Company D, 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was one of 50 US Army Rangers who participated with British Commando on the Dieppe raid in 1942. Sgt Kavanaugh died on September 11, 1998, and is now buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia, USA.
