Harold Raymond “Tony” Adams was born on February 1, 1914, in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He was the son of Jordan H. Adams and Ollie Myrtle Sloan Adams. He was first married to Fae LaVerne Morris Jones. He was married again to Marguerite Catherine "Beber" Anhorn-Horst Adams.
Adams served in the 1st Ranger Battalion as a Sergeant during World War II. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant and transferred to Company B, 3rd Ranger Battalion. SSgt Adams was one of 50 US Army Rangers who participated with British Commando on the Dieppe raid in 1942. He died on August 8, 1975, and is now buried in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, USA.
