Paul Button Snyder was born in 1919, in Kentucky. He served in Battery C, 80th Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Corporal during World War II. Cpl Snyder was Killed in Action on June 14, 1944, during the liberation of Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte in France. He is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France. Cpl Snyder was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart in recognition of his bravery and sacrifices.
